Divesting from fossil fuels
Divest Strathclyde is the campaign to get the Strathclyde Pension Fund to drop investments in fossil fuel companies and other big polluters and re-invest the money in ethical and sustainable alternatives.
Divest Strathclyde was founded by a group of local residents and is run entirely in a voluntary capacity. Campaigning has involved meeting councilors, gathering signatures for our open letter, staging protests, hosting awareness-raising events, getting press coverage, collaborating with other groups and campaigns, participating in marches, and much much more. The group is organizing virtual information sessions and calls to action among the activists in time for the Pensions Committee to vote on their divestment decision.
