Challenging false promises to the climate crisis

Angel is increasing public awareness and understanding of the green economy and low-carbon development projects cropping up in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Angel recognizes the need for the local community to monitor and provide feedback to the decision-makers and implementers concerning the possible health risks associated with the deployment of some green and climate-smart technologies. The group is surveying the baseline awareness regarding green development among the target audience of local NGOs and leaders. The survey will inform the development of training modules, in-person and online trainings, and follow-up strategic planning meetings with the participants. The group will then publish guidelines for the community monitoring of green development projects in the Russian and Kazakh languages and publicize the results in regional and national mass media campaigns.
