The CLIMA Fund created the Underpinning Stories dialogue series in 2019 to support emergent, honest conversations among funders about grassroots-led climate action. Our intention is to bridge ways of knowing and being between climate funders and grassroots movement leaders. Towards this aim, in our last series, we invited three artists to join the discussions and create art in response to what they heard. We hope the offerings below sow new questions and reflections that may inspire more audacious philanthropic action.
Alixa García wrote and illustrated a poem based on her reflections during and after the dialogue series. Click here to check out her beautiful work.
Ayan noted and illustrated the group’s imaginations and desires for our future. Click here to see the solutions and futures identified by the cohort.
The header and footer artwork is painted by Chuu Wai to symbolize the inter-relationship between our hopes, imaginations, and futures. Click here to have a closer look.
